The old Adaminaby township was submerged under Lake Eucumbene as part of the giant Snowy Mountains power scheme implemented shortly after World War 2. The cemetery, however remained intact, situated as it was above the lake's high water level. The headstones are generally in excellent condition for age and, subject to a few problems with lichen growth, are mostly quite legible. Inscriptions extant range from 1863 to the present century.
Joe Sharman visited the site in July 2012 and made a digital image of every visible inscription. Joe's pictures may be downloaded from the list of inscriptions for this cemetery. The list was compiled with reference to the NSW indices of births, deaths and marriages and to the Australian War Memorial online military rolls for additional information.
