Maclean General Cemetery is laid out in denominational portions including Anglican, Baptist, Catholic, Methodist and Seventh Day Adventist and is entirely monumental. The monuments are generally in good condition with regard to age and, with the exception of some of the old sandstones, and the lichen growth on more recent granite stones, the inscriptions are mostly legible.
The site is gently sloping with mature shade trees and maintained in excellent condition by Council. The cemetery is in two areas, one either side of the high school in Cameron Street. There are no amenities or other facilities provided.
Sandra Cockbain has contributed her digital images of the inscriptions and these may be viewed from the list of inscriptions for this cemetery. That list was compiled with reference to the NSW and Queensland online indices of births, deaths and marriages and to the Australian War Memorial online military rolls for additional information.
The cemetery is on the southern side of Cameron Street, near the Maclean Showground.
Maclean Monumental Cemetery is administered by Clarence Valley Council. For further information, contact Council at Locked Bag 23, Grafton NSW 2460; phone 02 6643 0200; email: firstname.lastname@example.org
