East Bank Road,
Coramba Cemetery is in a bush setting opposite the refuse centre. Because of the abundance of surrounding trees, most of the headstones are stained by sap and nectar and some inscriptions are difficult to decipher. Several older stones have fallen and broken but, otherwise, the monuments are mostly in reasonable condition for age. The earliest inscription found was dated 1895.
Michelle Stafford visited Coramba Cemetery in July 2010 and made digital images of all visible inscriptions. She writes, "The majority of the graves are on the left hand side of the road which bisects the area. Only 10 single and double plots are visible on the right hand side. The site, overall, is very tidy and manicured. No visible markings or posts identify the portions. There are no public facilities."
A feature of the cemetery is a large memorial stone placed in 1999 by the Orara Valley Historical Society to commemorate the centenary of the cemetery and to record known burials in unidentified graves. Individual small plaques bearing basic information have been attached to both sides of the rock.
Michelle's images may be viewed from the list of inscriptions for this cemetery. Michelle compiled that list from her images and with reference to the NSW indices of births, deaths and marriages and to the Australian War Memorial online military rolls for additional information.
Coramba is located approximately 15kms west of Coffs Harbour.
