Raymond Terrace
Raymond Terrace is an attractive and comparatively modern cemetery, the earliest inscription found being dated 1917. The site is divided into denominational portions, all of which are clearly indicated. A columbarium displays plaques dated from the mid-1980s. Also on the site is a recently established garden area containing memorial trees planted in remembrance of persons buried in this cemetery, some of whom have grave markers and some whose graves are presently unmarked.
Ruth King visited and photographed every visible inscription in April 2008. She found the grounds in excellent condition - mown, trimmed and weed free. The monuments are generally erect and in good condition and, except for some attracting lichen, fully legible.
Ruth's images may be downloaded from the list of inscriptions for this cemetery. That list was compiled from her images and notes and with reference to the NSW indices of births, deaths and marriages and the Australian War Memorial nominal rolls for both world wars for additional information.
Raymond Terrace Cemetery is about 1km east of the CBD, on the southern side of Elizabeth Avenue, opposite the golf course.
