The Darwin General Cemetery is a denominational cemetery which was opened in 1954 and closed in 1988. It was reopened again in 1989 and subsequently closed in September 2003. Burials are currently only permitted in previously reserved grave sites.
Many Cyclone Tracey victims are buried at the Darwin General Cemetery, as well as past Council Alderman and dignitaries.
The Cemetery is beautifully maintained by the City of Darwin.

Darwin General Cemetery is located beside McMillans Road, Jingili and extends back to Freshwater Road and across to Seabright Crescent.
