Bowen General Cemetery comprises an old monumental cemetery, that is divided into rather indeterminate portions, and a lawn cemetery which includes a columbarium. Inscriptions listed so far date from the 1860s. The grounds are maintained in good condition by the Whitsunday Regional Council.
Saskia Vollema-Creek has contributed her images which she made in late 2009. She intends to complete the project in due course. That list was compiled from the images and with reference to the Queensland indices of births, deaths and marriages and to the Australian War Memorial's online military rolls for additional information.
