Maclean Lawn Cemetery appears to have been established in the mid-1960s. It is located on a generous site and is maintained in excellent condition by the Clarence Valley Council. Some of the beams run between the rows with plaques mounted facing inward so that it is possible to walk along the beam and read all the inscriptions on either side without having to walk on the graves themselves - an excellent idea.

Peter Arthur visited the cemetery during 2008 and made digital images of every visible lawn plaque. In July 2011, Sandra Cockbain photographed all the columbarium plaques. Their pictures may be accessed from the list of inscriptions for this cemetery. Peter and Sandra compiled that list with reference to the NSW births, deaths and marriages indices and to the Australian War Memorial online military rolls for additional information. Paul and Heather Owen updated this cemetery in 2016. Sandra Cockbain has updated the cemetery to 2019.

Maclean Lawn Cemetery is about 3km from town, on the eastern side of Brooms Head Road, and about half way to Gulmarrad.

Maclean Lawn Cemetery is administered by the Clarence Valley Council. For further information, contact Council at 2 Prince Street (Locked Bag 23), Grafton NSW 2460; phone 02 6643 0200; email: council@clarence.nsw.gov.au
