Kanyaka Homestead Cemetery

Kanyaka Cemetery was photographed by Sonya Organ in August 2010. The cemetery is located on what was once Kanyaka Station, one of the largest stations in the area that eventually succumbed to drought. Sonya found nine graves that were marked and several others with grave surrounds that lacked any inscription. The inscriptions recorded ranged from 1857 to 1874. The ruins of the station buildings (see above pic courtesy Wikipedia) are now a tourist attraction.

How to find it
Kanyaka Cemetery is close to the ruins of the Kanyaka Homestead buildings, on the western side of route B83, 25km south of Hawker.
