Perthville Uniting Church Cemetery
Address: Vale Road, Perthville 2795 NSW
The pictures of Perthville Uniting Church Cemetery have been submitted by James Dietrich, who visited the cemetery in March 2007. He found inscriptions dating from as early as 1855.
We are grateful for the following information on the cemetery that has been provided by Clive Hamer. He writes: "Henry Rodwell donated this land in 1863 and his wife Caroline (died 1872) was probably the first buried there - not Sarah Hamer (died 1855). She was first buried in the Havannah Street Cemetery (Milltown?). When the railway was extended c.1877, her remains were disinterred and reburied in the Vale Road Wesleyan (now Uniting) Cemetery."
Thanks are also extended to Betty Cowan, who has provided considerable additional information about the burials at Perthville as well as details of a number of unmarked graves in this cemetery. The images of the church and cemetery (above) have been kindly provided by Marie Draper.
James' images may be downloaded from the list of all inscriptions for this cemetery. That list was compiled with reference to the NSW BDM indexes for additional information.
